Description:

RockTape Presents The FMT+ Lab - Advanced Kinesiology Taping Strategies

Join us at the Lab for 4 hours of hands-on learning, where we're covering advanced (and brand new!) topics.

How it works:

The Lab includes both synchronous (4 hours) and asynchronous (6 hours) learning.

Attendees complete RockTape Basic Kinesiology Taping as a 6-hour pre-requisite course online. This is self-paced, and completed prior to the lab.

After completing the pre-requisite, come join us at CCMH on Nov. 15th for 4 hours of taping strategies that apply the basic knowledge you learned from the pre-requisite course to advanced taping strategies.

What we'll cover:

1. Advanced Taping Modifications
Explore directional vectoring strategies (Tweak Taping) and learn how subtle tape adjustments can influence the sensory input delivered through the skin. Small adjustments, or 'tweaks' in the tape application can lead to significant outputs in movement and pain experience.

2. Strain-Resistant Taping
Learn application strategies using RockTape X with RHEON®, including when and why a strain-resistant approach may be beneficial. Explore case studies where strain-resistant tape may be appropriate for tendon injury and rehab management.

3. Tape + Vibrational Cupping Integration
Using case-based learning, attendees will work through real-world presentations and explore how two distinct inputs, sustained skin stretch from tape and rhythmic vibration from cupping, can be combined to improve patient response - for movement changes and pain perception. The cups aren't designed to slide across the skin - instead, they stay where you put them, add a vibration input, and are used as a 'handle' for local tissue mobility as indicated.

The goal is for attendees to leave understanding:

* When and why to combine these interventions: standard vs strain-resistant kinesiology tape, combined with vibration cups or not?
* How to appropriately dose each input: how much do you stretch the tape, and which direction do you apply it in? How much vibration to use?
* How to reassess and determine effectiveness in real time: learn how to effectively test, and then re-test

Course fee (including tape to take home):

NSPA members: $337.50 + tax (Use code NSPALAB10)
Non-members: $375 + tax
