Description:

The Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association is excited to welcome Dr. David Walton to deliver an engaging course that brings a thoughtful, data-driven approach to chronic pain management: Assess, Predict, Treat: Integrating Data with Person-first Insights for Managing and Preventing Chronic Pain

Learn how to integrate established and new clinical measurement tools with patient narratives and data-driven insights to identify pain classifications, treatment targets, and estimate risk of poor outcomes. Drawing on over 25 years of clinical and academic experience, Dr. David Walton, a global leader in pain assessment and evaluation, will provide attendees with new strategies for trauma-informed understanding of the pain of another person and the tools needed to estimate the likelihood of recovery. Patient partnership, respect for lived experience, and shared decision-making will ground the discussion as Dr. Walton presents new self-report and digital tools towards the goal of more personalized and more effective acute and chronic pain management.
