Description: Preliminary Details for NSCP & NSPA AGM Professional Development

This year's professional development will focus on the use and significance of outcome measures in public and private settings.  A panel of speakers will present information on the importance of demonstrating effectiveness of physiotherapy care in order to prove value, defend funding within the public system, and to demonstrate return on investment for payors and patients.  Additional details will be posted to this page as they are confirmed.

We are very pleased to announce our confirmed Panellists:

Barbara Adams - community physiotherapist, working for PhysioCare at Home.  Barbara's emphasis will be on outcome measures in community settings / for seniors.

Anne Fenety
- Physiotherapist,  on faculty at Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy.  Will focus on engaging clients in goal setting, and ensuring effective communication between patients and therapists re: OMs/goals.

Peter Graham - Senior Strategy Advisor, Government Relations, Capital District Health Authority.  Focus will be effective use of OMs to demonstrate value of the profession to
government, funders, decision-makers


David Kachan - private practice physiotherapist, clinic owner.  Particular emphasis on OMs in private practice settings, particularly WCB
 

Katie White - Physiotherapist, Stroke Consultant, Cardiovascular Health Nova Scotia.  Focus on using Stroke Strategy as a case study for effective use of OMs to demonstrate value and effectiveness in one specific area of care.


The workshop is free for members of the College and/or Association.
