About NSPA
The Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association (NSPA) is the voice and advocate for physiotherapists, physiotherapy support personnel, and physiotherapy students in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. As a provincial branch of a unified and proactive national organization, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), NSPA draws on expertise and resources from across Canada and in all areas of physiotherapy practice to:
- Provide services to our members;
- Advocate for physiotherapy with government, payors (such as WCB or other insurers), and other stakeholders; and
- Help the public to understand the role and benefits of physiotherapy in maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle; for preventing or recovering from disease or disability; and for maximizing quality of life for Nova Scotians of all ages and physical abilities.
NSPA’s MISSION The Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association (NSPA) provides leadership and direction to Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) members in the province of Nova Scotia and supports the mission of the CPA to foster excellence in practice, education and research and promote high standards of health in Canada.
OUR ASPIRATIONSExcellence The voice of physiotherapy is grounded in evidence, best practice, and clearly articulated policies which advance the profession in Canada and internationally.
Unity NSPA and CPA’s voice is strong and clear, expressed by a vibrant leadership, supported by an informed and unified membership.
Voice Physiotherapy is viewed as an essential health service; our voice is sought and respected within the health debate in Canada.
OUR STRATEGIC PLAN
NSPA members approved a 2010-2013 Strategic Plan at the Association's Annual General Meeting on March 27, 2010. This plan guides the Board in determining priorities and allocating resources.
