NSPA Joins ParticipACTION Partner Network

In April 2011, NSPA became a member of the ParticipACTION Partner Network, a national network of not-for-profit and public sector organizations dedicated to promotion of physical activity and sport participation.


Membership in the network provides NSPA with access to the best information and resources available in the field of physical activity, as well as access to ParticipACTION public education, and membership in the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC).

NSPA Partners with Heart & Stroke Foundation of NS in Call for Health Promotion

On Wed. October 6, 2010 the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia (NSFNS) was joined by many health organizations, including the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association, in a call for increased government support for health promotion spending.  The call, issued at a media conference, follows the release of HSFNS survey results demonstrating that Nova Scotians strongly support increased funding in the area of health promotion, particularly related to chronic disease reduction, physical activity, and healthy eating.  Some of the resources developed for the media release can be found below.
