DEVELOP YOUR CLINICAL SKILLS & BUILD CONFIDENCE TREATING NECKS
Part B is designed to further develop your ability to accurately assess and classify patients with neck ailments.  Determine the correct treatment approach that will help your patients recover rapidly.  Follow the Evidence! MDT procedures covered during this course will enhance your ability to effectively treat your patients and significantly improve your patient outcomes.  This course begins with a comprehensive online session, followed by a three day live course focusing on the application of the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the cervical and thoracic spine.  4 or 5 legitimate patients, selected by the hosting clinic, will be assessed and treated by the instructor during this course.   This is a great opportunity to see the results of the method first-hand.
 

Patient demonstration, analysis and discussion  (4 to 5 patients per course)
How to start using MDT as a comprehensive system for MSK disorders and injuries
Pathophysiology and biomechanics of the cervical spine
Subjective / objective assessment
Develop confidence with exercise prescription for neck and thoracic pain
Review and treatment of the three mechanical syndromes
Cervical headache and trauma ('whiplash')
Contraindications and outcome predictors
Differentiating mechanical neck pain from red flags and serious pathologies
Indications for and practice of neck and thoracic manual techniques
Thoracic spine: anatomy, pathology, examination and treatment
