Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy is organizing APTA`s Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program.
This program is intended for both new and experienced physiotherapists (PT`s) and rehabilitation and/or physiotherapy assistants (RA/PTA) that work in a clinical setting and are interested in developing their teaching abilities.
It is designed for people interested in or involved with clinical education (clinical instructors [CIs], center coordinators of clinical education [CCCEs], academic coordinators of clinical education [ACCEs)
The program addresses issues of planning and preparing for students during their clinical education experiences; developing learning experiences and supporting ongoing learning through questioning and effective feedback. Skills of evaluation are discussed, as well as the identification and management of students with exceptional situations.
Individuals are required to participate for both days, it takes 16 hours to complete the entire program. Successful completion of the course provides participants with continuing education credits and the Clinical Instructor credential.
CCIP Trainer Dr. Brenda Mori is the resource person and will be travelling to Halifax to conduct this course for a minimum of 15 (max 20) interested participants on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd 2020 from 8:30-4:30.
Registration and fees: The fee for this course is $230 CA per participant. Send a cheque made payable to Dalhousie University or e-transfer to email@example.com. The fee includes APTA International partnership membership, course manual and lunch.
