Eastern College is actively seeking a registered Physiotherapist or Physiotherapist Assistant interested in joining the Halifax campus as an Instructor within our Physiotherapy Assistant program.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide quality delivery of assigned courses within the Physiotherapy Assistant program, utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments and exams.
The Physiotherapy Assistant Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.
The successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience in medical terminology, the appropriate education and a minimum of two (2) years practical work experience in a hospital, private setting or Canadian clinical physiotherapy setting. Qualified candidates will be registered as a Physiotherapist or Physiotherapist Assistant in the province of Nova Scotia. Demonstrated leadership skills including supervision, motivation and facilitation are preferred. Intermediate MS Office skills and strong command of the English language both written and verbal are essential.
Hours of Work:
This position is a part-time contract opportunity. Hours of work will be four (4) hours per day, Monday to Friday, and will be scheduled from 8am – 12pm.
The scheduled start for this opportunity is October 2020.
