Lifemark is seeking a clinical leader to oversee operations within the Atlantic North Region in addition to supporting the multidisciplinary team at Lifemark Physiotherapy Colchester. The position will be based in Truro, NS and will require travel within Nova Scotia & New Brunswick. The anticipated start date for this position is late fall, 2018. 

As a Clinic Director/Area Manager for Lifemark, you would work to manage multifaceted portions of our dynamic business. This role is ideal for someone who is a big picture thinker, feels comfortable with financial and operational management, as well as who can contribute to business development in our network of clinics in the Atlantic region. This leader must also have a passion for developing clinical excellence through mentorship, education, and professional development 

Specific qualifications include:

Professional designation in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
Previous experience managing rehabilitation clinics is considered a strong asset
5+ years of experience as a practicing clinician
Past experience managing large projects across multiple locations
Proven past leadership of direct reports and teams 

The Accountabilities as a Clinic Director/Area Manager largely fall within the following domains:

Business Management  

Be responsible and accountable for the overall success of clinics in the Atlantic North region.  This includes financial management, marketing and business development as well as a commitment to quality improvement
Ensure that each clinic develops an annual business plan.  This includes revenue and profit contribution forecasts supported by a strategic analysis of the clinics’ competitive opportunities and appropriate business-building activities
Ensure that standards of clinic operations are achieved in all areas
Install a climate of success within the clinics by strong, supportive leadership and a positive attitude
In conjunction with the National Office personnel, work as a team to meet corporate and clinic-specific goals and objectives
Develop, implement and monitor customer service programs to provide an outstanding experience to patients, physicians and payers
Support Clinic Directors in the development of strong, enduring and trustful relationships with referring clinicians and specialists in the Region
Develop co-operative relationships with insurance adjusters and case managers
Develop relationships with employers/WCB in the Region to provide return to work programs to injured workers 


On-going administration and cost-efficient allocation of financial resources at each clinic
Regular review and analysis of the financial statements including:
Monitor expenses at clinics in the region, approve and manage expenditures
Payroll submissions
Monthly financial statements and financial reporting responsibilities
Creation of new hire documentation, meet internal payroll submission and approval accuracy deadlines
Take appropriate action based on the analysis of the financial and operating reports to meet and exceed each clinics targeted financial performance in consultation with the Clinic Directors


Ensure high quality service is delivered in an effective and cost-efficient manner
Based on customer need, evaluate existing programs and develop new programs that will build the business
Facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment and a client centered approach to care
Assist in the implementation of the outcome measurement and data collection system
Treating a caseload within the clinic
Review extension requests for WCB, MVA and LTD patients and assist clinical staff with caseload management skills
Provide quality assurance reports and feedback to other clinical leaders
Promote and encourage other continuing education opportunities

Expectations Regarding Professional Development:

Demonstrate clinical leadership and expertise through mentorship and the management of professional development for clinical staff
Provide mentorship of clinical staff as required, including supervision of PT residents or placement students as required
Perform 1:1 monthly meetings with all clinical staff- review of physiotherapist scorecard and other objective measures of performance
Develop corrective action plans when performance issues are identified
Review treatment plans for accuracy, clinical reasoning & program selection
Assist in recruitment and hiring of support staff
